The recruiting industry is undergoing a seismic transformation, driven by artificial intelligence (AI). AI has become a buzzword, and rightfully so. However, AI, by itself, is not yet capable of hiring employees for companies. You can't provide ChatGPT with a job description and then have a calendar invite sent to you with someone ready to start work—we’re simply not there yet.
The opportunity lies with founders, entrepreneurs, and tech giants. Company HR teams shouldn’t be building the technology; instead, they will inevitably be the direct customers of these advancements.
The horizontal AI platforms have already been built. Companies like Anthropic and OpenAI have led the way, but now comes the real opportunity for thousands of founders: AI agents that understand the deep complexities of specific industries.
How do I think this landscape will evolve? Founders will apply LLMs (large language models) to datasets, resume databases, or social platforms. Automated workflows will then be prompted to get all the necessary data extracted from candidates and packaged for the end users.
In this article, I’ll share unique perspectives on how AI and LLMs will start to emerge in 2025. At Taldeco, we’re about to launch the first MVP of our recruiting dataset, called Taldeco Marketplace (more on that later).
What Are AI Agents?
AI agents are software programs powered by machine learning algorithms, designed to perform specific tasks autonomously or semi-autonomously.
Current AI in Recruitment
AI is already transforming parts of the recruitment process. Here are some current applications:
Resume Screening: AI-powered platforms can sift through thousands of resumes in seconds, identifying candidates with the right skills and experience.
Chatbots: Virtual recruiters engage with candidates 24/7, answering questions, scheduling interviews, and maintaining communication.
Predictive Analytics: By analyzing historical data, AI tools can predict a candidate’s job performance and cultural fit, improving hiring outcomes.
AI Agents in 2025
In 2025, founders will focus on building specific workflows within the recruitment process. These workflows may include:
AI Agent Phone Screening: Conducting preliminary interviews with candidates.
AI Agent Chat and SMS Screening: Engaging candidates via text-based interactions.
AI Agent Candidate Comparisons: Evaluating candidates against specific job requirements.
AI Agent Scheduling: Setting up calendar invites with candidates seamlessly.
Once these processes reach a 90% or higher hiring accuracy rate, we will see the first candidates hired entirely through AI.
The largest opportunity lies in AI agents screening candidates and packaging the data in a way that’s easy for customers to review. This includes details like candidate pay preferences, desired shifts, and remote versus commute options.
Taldeco Marketplace: A Game-Changer for Manufacturing Recruitment
Taldeco Marketplace will launch its beta version in early 2025, focusing on the manufacturing industry. This platform will feature a fully AI-driven front-end screening process, delivering the data recruiters need on the back end. Our goal is to provide vast amounts of candidate data at your fingertips, including:
Candidate pay preferences
Desired shifts
Commute vs. remote work preferences
Emerging Players in AI Agents
We’re likely to see more groundbreaking AI agents from various companies. Here are a few examples:
blandAI: Specializing in phone agents
11x: Building Sales Development Representatives (SDRs)
AutoGPT: Developing custom agents and task management solutions
The Inevitable Rise of AI Agents
The implementation of AI agents in recruitment is inevitable. As these tools evolve, they will create significant opportunities to capture market share. At Taldeco, we’re excited to lead the charge in this transformation, delivering innovative solutions for the recruitment industry.
